I am confused as to how updates work and such.. cause of plugins and stuff like that. Will this server be updating soon or will we have to wait? Just wondering if I should get a life or not

P.S. When I change to 1.4.5 it says that I can;t speak in general and I can't use any of my commands to get back home and now I am stuck at spawn will our sethomes still be there?
